2024 Local Scholarship Bulletin

Determining how to pay for your post-secondary education is just as important as deciding where to go to get that education.

Apply now for a list of scholarships. The list is updated weekly so check back regularly.

In the spring, our local scholarship program will be presented to seniors.

You can also check out some of the links under Quick Links. MyScholly, Fastweb, and FinAid are scholarship search sites. Anything with FAFSA in the title will provide information on filling out the FAFSA, which is what determines aid from the federal government.

You should also check with your employer, the employer of your parents/guardians, and any organizations your parents/guardians belong to for additional scholarship opportunities.

Contact your counselor if you have questions.

FAFSA: Free Application for Federal Student Aid

If you are planning to attend a 2-year, 4-year, or technical college, and would like to receive need-based loans, grants, or work study money, you must complete the FAFSA.

You will need the following information to complete the FAFSA:

  1. YOUR COMPUTER
  2. Social Security Numbers and birthdates for your PARENT and YOU
  3. A working email for your PARENT and YOU (not school email)
  4. List of colleges and universities you applied to

Once you have gathered your documents, you are ready to create your FSA ID at https://studentaid.gov. Both the parent AND the student must have an FSA ID. Here is a worksheet to help guide you as you create your FSA ID. Save this worksheet in a secure location as you will need it EVERY YEAR when you apply for financial aid.

Now that you have your FSA ID's, you are ready to complete the FAFSA here

You will receive the SAR (Student Aid Report) within three days. Check with your college’s financial aid office to see if they have additional financial aid forms for you to complete. Between November and January, you will receive an award letter from the school you have applied to that specifies the type of aid you are eligible for. Final letters will be available in late spring.
